What we do and Who we are
Eyedea offer systems that measure students’ attention in typical classroom environments and settings. The systems utilise multiple inputs: eye tracking, head tracking and audio sensors.
As the systems are extremely easy to set up and calibrate, neither students nor teachers have to adapt or change. Specific research and analysis needs can be supported.
Eyedea is a Swedish start-up company, with people based in four countries, drawing on many years of expertise, in the fields of attention, engagement, research, visualisation, pattern recognition, and of course, user-friendy IT. |
Our road ahead
Our approach
Knowledge transfer is possibly the most important factor in human life. According to the European Union, investing in education, training and life-long learning supports the development of human capital and, in particular, will tackle and prevent unemployment. All kinds of organisations have a basic interest in measuring learning acquisition, from first grade pupils to established high-performing employees, to ensure that set goals will be met.
Eyedea offers, in this context, the possibility to improve the learning and teaching process, to the benefit of both teachers and students, increasing the efficacy of the information provided by schools, universities, training institutions or internal training departments, as well as public seminars and consultancy lectures.
In contrast to former educational research, there will be no more need for e.g. extensive and tiring watching of video recordings, or having to deal with inconsequential, manual coding of perceived results, running the risk of bias. Instead there will be ready sets of data available to the researcher, easy to use to apply to any hypothesis on how to, with significance, improve the learning process.
The automatically generated data can be aggregated across all participants to identify general patterns or be used for individual analysis, to help understanding if certain thresholds are reached. Researchers are given the opportunity to use Eyedea’s system to bridge the distance between attention and cognition by providing hard and verifiable facts retrieved from various scenarios and well-designed multivariate tests, providing significant results for all kinds of decision making.
